Happy New Year!

Kia ora bloggers!

It has been great to see so many of you get involved in the Summer Learning Journey. I am really enjoying reading all of your posts, along with Olive and Dani.

I just got back from a week of holidaying with my friends. We spent time on Kawau Island, and I also went on a dolphin and whale watching cruise in the Bay of Islands. I had a great rest, but I'm back and excited to read all of your new posts!

I'd love to hear how you and your whanau celebrated Christmas or New Years. Did you do something special? Comment below!

Keep up the great work, and it isn't too late to start if you haven't completed an activity yet!

Ngā mihi,
Tayla

!! IMPORTANT INFORMATION !!

Kia ora everyone! The Summer Learning Journey starts next week on Monday 16th December, so I hope you’ve all been trying out some of the teaser activities! If you want to have a go, you can find them here.  Just choose your year level and press on teaser week.

I am so excited to be reading and responding to each of your posts, along with my awesome team of blog commenters – Olive and Dani! We will also be keeping an eye out for extra creative posts to be shared on our website, and to receive spot prizes!

There are a few important things to know, so keep reading…

1. I asked some of you to subscribe to this blog by entering your email at the top of the page. This didn’t work for some students, so please make sure you have bookmarked this page so you can see my posts.

2. If you don’t have access to wifi over summer and you need to download the programme before you leave school, click here. Click on the arrow in the square (in the top right hand corner) of either the Year 3-5 Version or the Year 6-8 Version, and download it onto your device.

3. It is important that when you use pictures from the internet, that you attribute them (to show where you found them). If you don’t know how to attribute images, have a read of this presentation. There are other ways to create images too, so click here to read about those.

4. To get extra points, you can comment on other students activities! You can find other posts by clicking on 'Cluster Twitter Feeds' at the top of my blog.

5. Try to not complete all the activities at once. We want to avoid that summer slide/slump, so spreading your blogging out over the holidays is the best way to do that!

6. Finally, don't forget what we discussed around plagiarism (copying other people's work or work off the internet). We want to read your work, so make sure you're writing in your own words.

If you have any questions about the programme or how to do something, email me at kaikohekohecluster@gmail.com, or post them in a comment below. Otherwise, I hope you are all enjoying the teaser week, and I look forward to seeing your activities when the programme starts on Monday!!

Ngā mihi,
Tayla
